Be Careful by BloodBandit Be Careful by BloodBandit
Bioware/EA owns Mass Effect, Kaidan Alenko, Garrus Vakarian and Commander Shepard.

Yep...Garrus and Kaidan were with me in the final stretch. Since I posted one of em, I figured I'll post all of the shots I took. The way he reaches out for her when she backs off the Normandy muttering be careful....Ugh those desperate pleading eyes, the way his hand shakes as he reaches for her.

Ow my heart.

Was he as whiny and obnoxious as Ashley in ME3?  Because I wanted to kill her myself by the end of the game.

I'd go with no. But that's my own biased opinion. He felt relatively retconned to me though, and that's speaking as someone who very much enjoyed his character in ME1. He seemed to be entirely different in ME3, probably due to the fact that he was written by someone else entirely from ME1 to ME3.

I liked him more than her in ME1 as well, I don't remember what led me to choosing to save her over him (I think his whining in ME2 led me to believe they were essentially the same kind of character).  But ugh, in ME3, Ashley just... turned it up to 11.  I couldn't stand her.

Mmm, not really I'm sure I'd classify his brief cameo as whining in ME2. But then I wouldn't classify Ash's cameo as whining either. BioWare definitely pushed them as interchangeable characters after ME1 though, which was quite annoying considering they're very different personality and temperament wise. I'd say ME3 tried damn hard to ruin both of them, or really any character that wasn't Liara...But I digress, both Ash and Kaidan's insistent refusal to see reason and constant barrage of accusations directed at Shep in regards to Cerberus were very overdone I thought, and then after the stand off scene their characters flip switches in their personalities and act entirely different, as though all the shit they pulled no longer mattered. Of course you always have the option to either kill them or send them packing after the attempted Coup so at least you don't have to deal with them for the rest of the game.

That being said, I only had...two instances of Ash being alive in my games thus far (Plan on having more over the summer so we'll see). One was a prior romance, and one was started in ME3 itself. I have to say, after my Renegade got with Miranda over Ash and she started acting absolutely childish and accusing HIM of leaving HER after she clearly established that she was over him and didn't even VISIT him, I was glad to have kicked her ass to the curb. Also threatening her life with Renegade dialogue made her snippy attitude much more tolerable to me, but again, that's just me.

Different opinions are different I guess.  To me, both of them were obnoxious in ME2 (they both had to serve the role 'disgruntled former teammate' of course) - hundreds of thousands of people being abducted and in all likelihood killed, Shepard resurrected from the dead and all either of them could focus on was Cerberus.

"Shepard you're alive!  But... you're working for Cerberus?"

"I'm trying to stop the collectors.  They're killing hundreds of thousands of people."

"But but... you work for Cerberus!"

"Cerberus is the only group doing anything about these abductions.  Millions more will die if we don't stop them."

"But... Cerberus!"

"I'm trying to save lives, Kaiden/Ashley."

"WELL I KNOW WHERE MY LOYALTIES LIE, WITH THE ALLIANCE!"

That whole exchange definitely fits my personal definition of whiny, and as I said ME3 made me want to kill Ashley myself.  Had I known about the 'squadmate shoots her' option at the time when I first did the Udina/Cerberus bit, I probably wouldn't have talked her down.

Different strokes for different folks aye x)? Heh yea, their reactions on Horizon were abysmal especially for officers in the Alliance. I've always rationalized their reactions as their emotions getting a hold of their logic and not letting go. They were hurt, felt betrayed and their defense having Shepard come back from the dead itself was a feat never before accomplished so seeming a little skeptical was fair. However, they did apologize for it in ME2 so at least there's that, provided you romance them I guess...Friendship gets you diddly. But then in ME3 they take a step backward with the constant barrage of doubts and questioning. Having a Renegade response for them to either accept Shep for who they are or get over it was really nice in that aspect, and it shut Ashley right up on my playthroughs with her.

Well shooting them should be the last option honestly, as they're a Spectre and were a value member of Sheps team beforehand. At worst, you talk them down and then do not accept their offer to join you back on the Normandy. Gaining you more war points and then never having to see their face again after the Coup.  So that's always the option. However if you really do want to shoot them yea all you need to do is pick the 'neutral' response when talking to either of them during the stand off scene and then picking the first renegade interrupt that becomes available to you.

Well I talked her down and let her rejoin my crew in both ME3 careers, so I did the nice thing even if I didn't want to. XD

xD Haha, well she at least has some amusing scenes with her getting drunk. But her calling you a bad commander is...Ashley stahp. Ashley wat r u doing.

They also pretty badly shafted her scene in the Citadel DLC.

Oh god, that face. I love you Kaiden, and your voice. I've loved you ever since you were Carth Onasi all those years ago in the world of Star Wars.

This is the reason why I went with the Destroy ending. At least that way my FemShepard would remain alive, and reunite with him. Don't tell me any different.

Can't even...THE FEELS. EVEN IN 2013. :iconcryforeverplz:

Also, Shep/Kaidan/Garrus is the dream team, no denying.
